Day 13-Yosemite

Day 13: Yosemite

Hi from the Sneezy’s,
(Davis, Charlie, Mia, Sydnee, Tucker, Grace, Claira, Anna, Hayleigh, & Sierra)

Wake-up call was at 5:45 today. We left San Francisco heading back east for Yosemite National Park. Many of us cautiously fell asleep knowing it meant we would probably have our picture taken. We made an early morning Walmart stop so the cooks could buy our next five meals including big muffins for breakfast and buffalo chicken wraps for lunch (most of us agree the buffalo chicken wraps have been our best lunch).
We rode on the bus or van for most of the day admiring the beautiful mountains which brought us to the giant land of Sequoia Trees: Yosemite National Park.  We hiked a mile to the “Great Grizzly” which is 27,000 years old, 31 feet across and stands 200 feet tall.  We all broke our necks trying to look up at it and some of us got the pro shots from laying on the dusty ground (Gabe).  Going back to the bus was all downhill thank goodness and it was a nice break from riding on the bus all day.  While waiting for our ride back to the bus, we tried to guess each other’s middle names and Mia got Sierra’s on the first try (Brooklyn’s too). Next, we stopped at Inspirational Point… a truly magnificent view of Bridalveil Fall, El Capitan, and Half Dome. You could say many of us were inspired. Thanks to Claudius we ended up at the Yosemite gift shop.  There was a whole grocery store and souvenirs.  It was so expensive.

Taking it all in

On the bus, Dallas told us about a guy that Anna went on a date with and asked us to give Anna some relationship advice. We were very concerned when we heard he didn’t pay and he only wears baseball jerseys. We were relieved when we found out this was just one of the many jokes that Dallas gets us sucked into. She somehow always tricks us to believe her, she is very convincing! Dallas had other funny stories for the ride to the campsite and kept us entertained with all her stories and musical playlists.
We’ve arrived at our campsite near Mono Lake, and it’s quite chilly. We saw snow on the mountains on our way here. As we arrived at the campsite we noticed that the name of the National Park is “Inyo” (in who’s national park? In-yo’s). We’re now waiting on our hefty helpin’ of Hamburger Helper as well as our tokens for warm water in the showers…well some of us will shower. Brooks lost his sweat pants on the wrong day, and now he has to sleep in jeans. Hopefully he doesn’t freeze his dawgs off. The dinner was great and now it is time for us to get some sleep before a long day of driving tomorrow!

Peace out for today! Don’t forget to cover your sneezes!
