Hi Everyone!!!! The Dopey's Are Here: Brooklyn, Delani, William, Allie, Evan, Riley, Jackson Medlin, Carson Dennis, Summer, and Laurel
This Morning we woke up at 5:30!!! We packed a little slower and passed out on a freezing cold bus. Switching jobs up today was difficult for many people, But not the DOPEYS!!! Breakfast was gourmet bagels with cream cheese and granola bars. Dallas’ wake up song this morning was not a hit with most of us but it definitely woke us up.
On the van, on the other hand, they all slept until the first stop, except a few at the front that kept the driver entertained. They also played cards, like UNO and blackjack, until they were so bored of the games. Brooks then decided to make everyone play the alphabet game, but on the good side everyone enjoyed the game and played.
Now back to the Bus we made a quick pit stop at the Flying Jay, where we were surprised with a Cinnabon!!! Those Cinnabon's were truly what we needed this morning. We actually made it back to the bus early even though the bathroom lines seemed never ending. After about a two hour long bus ride, and a lot of naps, we all started to finally wake up for the rest of the day. We got to look at the gorgeous gas stations that all looked the same but we always seemed to buy something. We continued to drive and the drive wasn’t very scenic as it was just open fields.

Then finally made it to the Carlsbad Caverns and we had to separate into all our groups. While we tried to take pretty pictures, lighting wasn’t our friend. As we descended down the cavern, the colder it got… Brrrrr! The caverns were very different than anything we have ever seen. We then went to the gift shop and got some souvenirs for ourselves or our family and friends. After seeing our sites we loaded on the bus yet again. Only to stop at Walmart. That was an experience, people's cards started declining. Do y’all want to send us some more money?? LOL!! At Walmart, Laurel came up with the greatest idea to buy a rotisserie chicken on the bus for a pre-dinner meal. Will also made sure the van was in good shape too as he bought another chicken. Did we mention? It was only $7 and very very very tasty. Sharing is caring as we say on the TWB, one big happy family. On our trip to the campsite, we started seeing aliens. They were EVERYWHERE you looked and one might have hopped on the bus with us. Today was HOT HOT HOT! The highest temperature reached 105 today and it became to hot that the bus was struggling hard to stay cool.

We finally arrived at New Mexico Military Institute where 6 people caught us up on our research of the places we had been so far. Then the cooks started our Mexican themed dinner of tacos, black beans, and chips with queso & salsa. While the Grumpy’s were cooking, they had to ask one of our fellow Dopey’s, Riley, for help with the propane tank gas stove to cook the meat. He cooked it all to perfection!!! After dinner we had a group meeting and then we played a quick little game. Two representatives from each group had to stand in front of everyone and sing. They had to switch songs with every person and it was so funny because we went from Jingle Bells to Party in the USA and all the way to Amazing Grace. After that we were able to take showers inside and get ready for bed. Many of us stayed up a while and talked in group circles. We already feel so close to each other in 4 days!
