Day 19- Colorado: Olympic and Paralympic Museum

Day 19: Colorado- Olympic and Paralympic Museum

The Happys are back! Today started off with an early morning. Dallas woke us up at 5:30 with her usual cheery morning mood! Miss America turned into a party van nonstop today while the bus played games like Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, The Movie Game, and Guess the Song and Artist. We had a yummy breakfast of yogurt parfaits this morning and for lunch we had sandwich wraps with different kinds of chips and sweets. We made a stop at a Flying J, where we got snacks and saw an adorable 5 week old puppy!

Our first big stop of the day was at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. We walked to the Cadet Chapel, which sadly was closed for reconstruction and won’t be back open until 2026! Some were sad that they couldn’t kiss a cadet. We took a group picture in front of another nice building before heading into the gift shop. After the Air Force Academy, we headed to the US Olympics and Paralympics Museum. We raced each other and an Olympian in the center, but we obviously let the Olympian win. We checked out the gift shop before getting on the bus. Since we did so good on time today, we got to be the second TWB group to visit the Garden of the Gods. The van thought it was so beautiful, they went around again! (Totally not because we missed the turn…)

We arrived at Colorado College and played Rock Paper Scissors, Gorilla Man Gun, and Duck Duck Goose. We were surprised with a nice meal of Domino’s Pizza before unpacking the bus and heading inside to the gym (as fast as possible, because it started raining!!) We quickly got to work on practicing our dance for today’s competition. Each group performed a 2 minute dance to Levitating by Dua Lipa. Everyone’s dance moves shined through tonight. Riley did the worm, Jackson Stevens did a toe touch, and Harrison… well, you just had to be there!! We obviously couldn’t win the second dance competition, so the counselors had to let the Grumpies win!! They won Dallas over with Carson’s cowboy hat. After all the groups finished, the counselors surprised us with a routine of their own! Everyone had a blast.

The BEST Happy group is signing off! Today is our last day blogging, so the next time we’ll talk to y’all will be Sunday at Mallard Creek. Love you mean it!!
